Family is everything and it's time to capture yours!

Between wardrobe selection, our busy family schedules and emotional children, the process of creating a family portrait can be a little unnerving.  We want to help you with everything that makes you want to breathe into a paper bag!

We have plenty of wardrobe ideas for you and Saturday sessions may be perfect in order to find time to schedule your portraits into your busy lives.  All of our family sessions include two photographers so there will always be a helpful assistant along - just in case there are stressed children or unruly four-legged family members in tow.

What to Wear

Hurray! You have scheduled your family portraits but now you have the daunting task of choosing what to wear.  Never fear, we have 3 easy tips to choosing what you and your family will look best in.

1) Solid, neutral colors found in nature are always best.

2) Pick outfits you feel confident in. If you are not comfortable it will show in your expressions and body posing. Stick to what you feel the best in and you will look your best.

3) Avoid large patterns and logos. These styles change quickly and can make your photos look dated in years to come.

4) Adding "game day fan" clothes for some of your session is one of our favorites for families!!  Whether it be "Bedlam" or all from the same high school...it is a wonderful memory worth preserving.

Family Tips

We so look forward to capturing many perfect images for you to enjoy.  On your photo day it is easy for parents and children to get nervous.  This can cause anxiety in smaller children especially. Try to relax and let us work our magic, we know what we are doing and want to do our very best job.  We will do all we can to make you and your loved ones feel comfortable.  Just smile!

  • DO plan ahead so you have completed tasks before your photo day.  Try to relax.
  • DO get your hair touched up if necessary before the session.
  • DO choose a basic color, then add a pop of accent color
  • DO choose a location where you and your kids feel comfortable.
  • DO pick a session time when your children are well-behaved.
  • DO bring a special friend or relative along to help entertain the kids - grandma or a funny uncle.
